The plaintiff was paving cement when, during the concrete pumping operation, the concrete boom truck hose became plugged. Subsequently, the plug “blew out” causing the hose to whip violently, and without warning whipped with great force and struck the plaintiff in the head. The force of the impact broke his hard hat, and he lost consciousness for approximately 1 to 2 minutes. His level of disability will be a lifelong disorder.
